Homecoming schedule with several spirit events postponed

Due to the rain forecast, we have made changes to this weekend’s Homecoming schedule with several spirit events postponed.

Stay tuned for more information to come later about Huskies Under the Lights, a lineup of evening fall sports games beginning Monday, October 21 and culminating with an array of HoCo 2.0 activities on Friday, October 25. Imagine what’s possible!

Still scheduled for Friday, September 27:

  • 1:15 p.m. - Student Pep Rally; Color Day Spirit Wear (4th Grade: Gray; 5th Grade: Yellow/Orange; 6th Grade: Red; 7th Grade: Purple; 8th Grade: Pink; 9th Grade: Green; 10th Grade: Blue; 11th Grade: White; 12th Grade: Black)
  • 3:30-6:00 p.m. - Den open with Chick-fil-A sandwiches
  • 4:00 p.m. - Girls’ Soccer Game vs. Bishop O’Connell - Peterson Family Field, Middle and Upper School Campus - “Star Spangled Banner” performed by Julia Murphy ‘26
  • 5:00-8:30 p.m. - Igloo open with Chick-fil-A sandwiches
  • 5:30 p.m. - Girls’ JV Volleyball Game vs. Jackson Reed - Gym, Upper School Building
  • 7:00 p.m. - Girls’ Varsity Volleyball Game vs. Jackson Reed - Gym, Upper School Building - “Star Spangled Banner” performed by Julia Bloy ‘25

The following Friday events have been postponed:

  • Varsity Girls' Tennis will be postponed to a later date.
  • Bonfire Lighting will move to Friday, October 25.
  • Pop-up School Store will move to Friday, October 25.

Still scheduled for Saturday, September 28:

  • 8:00 a.m. - Boys’ Varsity Soccer Game vs. Trinity Christian (originally scheduled for 10:30 a.m. and moved from the front grass to the turf field for player safety)
  • 10:00 - 4:00 p.m. - Den open with Chick-fil-A sandwiches
  • 11:00 - 4:00 p.m. - Rocklands Food truck available
  • 10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. - Face painting and balloon twisting in the Mitchell Commons in the Peterson Middle School
  • 10:00 a.m. - Field Hockey Game vs. Potomac - Peterson Family Field, Middle and Upper School Campus “Star Spangled Banner” performed by Patrick Logue '25
  • 11:00 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. Alumni Fan Zone on Spirit Alley with Host Committee - Mitchell Commons
  • 12:15 p.m. - Alumni Athlete Recognition - Peterson Family Field, Middle and Upper School Campus 
  • 12:30 p.m. - Varsity Football Game vs. Trinity Episcopal with a halftime performance featuring US dance team and LS dance clinic participants - “Star Spangled Banner” performed by Major Minors
  • 8:30 - 10:00 p.m. - Upper School Homecoming Dance

The following Saturday events have been postponed:

  • Grades 5-8 Baseball Clinic will be rescheduled for a later date.
  • Pop-up School Store will move to Friday, October 25.
  • Spirit Alley activities will move to Friday, October 25.

Note, we will no longer have shuttle service from the Lower School parking lot this weekend. Those coming to support our Huskies should plan to park in the Middle or Upper School parking lots.
