Step Up to Middle School: 6th Grade Parent Website

We’re excited to welcome our 6th graders to the Middle School next year! Get all the information you need on the new Step Up to Middle School page. The page includes answers to frequently asked questions, short videos related to the Middle School, links to resources, and a calendar of upcoming step-up events. Coming up in April: Director of the Middle School Brian Lamont will take 6th graders on a tour of Peterson Middle School, and he'll hold a parent orientation and advise on course selection.

Flint Hill Fund – Lead the Pack Challenge

Get ready Huskies — we’ve got a fun challenge coming for you! Stay tuned and keep an eye on your inboxes for more details on this year’s Flint Hill Fund’s Lead the Pack Challenge

Want to be a lead dog? If you have not yet participated this year, join in now and get to the front of the pack! Your gift of any amount will count toward your participation in this challenge and help to support students and teachers each and every day. Let’s go Huskies!

    Space Matters. Students Matter Most.

With your help, it’s time to update the Upper School Commons (including the balcony Commons area), Learning Commons, and Learning Centers. By giving students more functional and dynamic spaces, the Upper School will become as flexible as students’ and teachers’ needs are.

Make your gift today or a pledge payable by December 31, 2026, to make your impact on the Upper School. If you have questions about participating in this Upper School Commons and Classroom Revamp effort, please contact Assistant Head of School for Institutional Advancement Meredith VanDuyne.

Parents: Do You Know a Retired Astronaut or Space Engineer?

From time to time, teachers bring in a presenter to enhance the classroom curriculum. Given the extensive levels of expertise within the parent and alumni community, we’d like to make these opportunities more broadly accessible.

We have a current need for retired NASA astronauts and space engineers to speak with the 7th grade after their Steven F. Udvar-Hazy Center field trip on Friday, April 11. If you have a connection you might be willing to facilitate, please contact Assistant Head of School for Institutional Advancement Meredith VanDuyne to learn more (no obligations). Note that these presenting opportunities are not compensated.

As additional topics are requested we’ll share them here. Thank you for helping students and teachers make these real-world connections!

Spring Into Action Igloo Volunteers Needed!

Help us keep the Igloo open after spring break and sign up for a shift! Bring a friend and volunteer for as many shifts as you'd like — your support makes a difference and gives you a special glimpse into Upper School life. Volunteer in the Igloo.
