    Letter From the Division Director

Welcome back, Huskies! I hope your Spring Break was restorative and joyful. As we step into the final quarter of the school year, we are greeted not only by budding trees and blooming flowers but also by the energy and possibility that spring always brings — a season of growth, fresh starts, and renewed purpose.

Over the break, I discovered the work of Happy Dani, an artist whose mission is to take complex ideas and make them accessible to everyday advocates passionate about justice and empathy. One of her messages, In this class, there’s room for all, has deeply resonated with me and will soon be featured in our classrooms and on bookmarks for students. It’s a beautiful reminder that learning flourishes when everyone feels seen, heard, and valued — a message that reflects the very heart of our Flint Hill Core Values.

This spirit of inclusion and belonging is especially present in the weeks ahead. We’ll be welcoming our “Soon-To-Be Huskies” to campus, offering prospective students a glimpse into the warmth and joy of our learning spaces. Our 2nd through 4th graders will be visited by guest author Isaac Mensah-Yeboah, who will inspire their imaginations and affirm the power of storytelling. Our 6th graders will be stepping into their next chapter as they visit the Middle School — what an exciting and meaningful step in their Flint Hill journey!

Together, these moments remind us that this community is always growing and making room for new voices, fresh perspectives, and bold steps forward. As we embrace this final quarter, may we continue to lead with curiosity, empathy, and love.

    Happily,

    Jess Henry
    Director of the Lower School

Upper School Musical, “She Loves Me” — Friday-Sunday, May 2-4

Considered by many to be the most charming musical ever written, “She Loves Me” is a warm romantic comedy with an endearing innocence and a touch of old-world elegance. The Mikos Lazlos play “Parfuemerie,” on which it is based, has inspired many adaptations, including the beloved film “You've Got Mail” starring Meg Ryan and Tom Hanks. Set in a 1930s European perfumery, we meet shop clerks Amalia and Georg, who, more often than not, don't see eye to eye. After both respond to a "lonely hearts advertisement" in the newspaper, they now live for the love letters that they exchange, but the identity of their admirers remains unknown. Join Amalia and Georg to discover the identity of their true loves ... and all the twists and turns along the way!

Please note: This performance has been rated PG by Music Theatre International. Lower School families are encouraged to use their discretion, as the production includes some mature themes that may not be suitable for younger audiences.

The Upper School cast will perform in three shows in the Olson Theater located in the Hazel Lower School. Ticket information will be available in the next newsletter.

    • Friday, May 2, 7:00-9:00 p.m.
    • Saturday, May 3, 7:00-9:00 p.m.
    • Sunday, May 4, 2:00-4:00 p.m.
