The Head of School – March 5, 2025

March 5, 2025
Flint Hill Community,
This is a really exciting time on our campus, as the weather is changing, students are transitioning to spring seasons, and we’re nearing a well-deserved spring break.
While we are always conscious to maintain our focus on our students’ experiences each day, this is also the time of year when a LOT of work is being done to prepare for the future — specifically hosting revisit events for newly admitted students and families who are considering enrolling at Flint Hill next year, as well as finalist visits for teaching, coaching, and administrative positions at the school, beginning with the 2025-26 academic year.
Each of these are unique opportunities for our current students, families, faculty, and staff to share their experiences and Flint Hill spirit, as we all know that the community and culture at Flint Hill is what makes this place so special. Welcoming guests, asking thoughtful questions, and engaging first in understanding them as people followed by assessing fit for our community are all ways in which we can all ensure that the community we love keeps getting better.
Every year, whether with a new faculty or staff hire or a newly enrolled family, I hear stories of how a student was so kind to them as they nervously entered a building for the first time, or how smart, caring, and inquisitive our students are during demonstration lessons for prospective faculty. The adage is true — these interactions are two-way streets: while we’re interviewing them for their fit for us, these special guests are assessing us for the right fit and opportunities for their growth as potential students, families, and Husky team members.
This week, we are hosting our Admission Revisit Days, for newly admitted students and families to have one last chance to listen, learn, and ascertain their fit at Flint Hill before making a commitment for next school year, as well as multiple prospective employees from near and far, considering us for their next professional steps. I am excited at the opportunities these experiences entail, as each is a chance to build our community and excellence at Flint Hill. I know we’re putting our best Husky paw forward, and appreciate the intentionality from our community, as well as any feedback from students, families, and staff along the way.
Go Huskies!
