    Lower School Back-to-School Social — Friday, August 23, 2:00 - 3:00 p.m. Calling all new Husky families for a Lower School Scavenger Hunt! Follow clues around campus to get familiar with the location of your homeroom, the Lower School office, drop off, pick up, and more! RSVP today!

    Middle School Back-to-School Social — Tuesday, August 20, 5:30 - 6:30 p.m. Get ready for an epic kickoff to the school year! New and returning families are invited to join us for a gathering on the John M. Thomas Terrace. Students can dive into a variety of field games, board games, and playground fun while parents enjoy lively conversations. Indulge in delicious frozen treats from Rita’s as we come together to celebrate the start of an amazing school year. RSVP Today!

    Grade 9 and New Upper School Parent Reception Thursday, August 29, at 5:30 p.m. New Upper School parents are invited to learn from Head of School Patrick McHonett, Upper School Director Don Paige, and Assistant Head of School for Institutional Advancement Meredith VanDuyne about ways to partner with Flint Hill in support of your student. Remarks will begin at 5:40 p.m. followed by time to socialize and build parent connections prior to Upper School Back-to-School Night at 6:45 p.m. No RSVP required!

    Note that the first two days of school for all 9th graders will be dedicated to orientation and community-building activities through Calleva, an innovative outdoor education and adventure program. Parents and students will receive more info on that in the coming days.

    Order Textbooks & Buy Supplies

    The Flint Hill Online Bookstore is now open and free shipping is available through July 31. If your book list does not include any electronic textbooks, please follow this link to complete your purchase. For families wishing to use other sources to purchase textbooks, you’ll find book lists and the necessary ISBN numbers in the store. If you have specific questions, please contact Director of Academics Aaron Proctor.

    Below are school supplies requested by division:

    Lower School supplies are furnished by the School and are included in tuition. It is recommended that all Lower School students bring reusable water bottles that are no more than nine inches tall to school every day.

    Students in Junior Kindergarten and Kindergarten are asked to purchase a backpack without wheels that is 16 inches high x 13 wide x 7 1/4 deep. Students in Junior Kindergarten should also have a small blanket for rest time (maximum size 40 x 40).

    Order School Attire

    We recommend ordering school dress items now, as orders for items may experience delays later in the summer. The dress guidelines for each division are on the Preparing for the 2024-25 School Year tile on the Husky Hub Resource Board.

    The online School Store is your one-stop-shop for logo wear, spirit wear, P.E. uniforms, and athletic practice clothing. It is currently closed for inventory and restocking through Tuesday, July 30. Any orders placed during that time frame will be filled when we reopen on Wednesday, July 31.

    Look out for details about our Uniform Exchange on Wednesday, August 21 in our first official newsletter of the school year next week.

    Complete: Required Back-to-School Forms

    These online forms can be found in Husky Hub are required for student attendance at orientation, registration, classes, and for participation in all school-sponsored activities such as Athletics and Field Studies. The deadline to submit the forms has already passed, so please fill them out if you haven't yet. If you receive an error message while completing your forms, or have questions, please contact Enrollment Services Manager Sarah Burnett.

    Complete: Required Health Forms

    Student Health Forms are accessible through the Student Health Forms tile of the Resource Board. There is also a link on each checklist of the Preparing for the 2024-25 School Year tile. The deadline to submit health forms is Thursday, August 1.

    When to Expect Student Devices

    All new Middle and Upper students will be issued their school-owned MacBook Air during the first week of school.

    Optional: Flint Hill Carpool Network

    To assist families who have an interest in forming a new carpool or adding to an existing one, we have launched a carpool availability feature in the Student Directory on Husky Hub. This resource may be especially helpful to new families who are not served by one of our existing bus routes. From the main toolbar in Husky Hub, select “Directories”. Then select “Student”, under filters navigate to Carpool Availability and select “Yes”. Use the other available filters to narrow your results as well as the map feature for an additional view.
