The Head of School – December 4, 2024
December 4, 2024
Flint Hill Community,
I hope that everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving break. During the Monday and Tuesday of Thanksgiving week, our teachers were on campus, engaging in impactful professional development activities that included divisional and department meetings, dialogue with experts in childhood brain development and neuroscience, AI, and equity and inclusion work. This dedicated group did great work honing their craft to support students’ academic and personal growth here at Flint Hill.
We wrapped up these PD days sharing a bit of gratitude – for our community and one another. Being an employee at Flint Hill is, inherently, being a part of one Husky team – working together, seeking help, challenge, and connection in doing great work for and with students. Team members shared their personal why related to how they embarked on a career in schools – often impacted by a caring teacher, coach, or mentor in their own educational experience.
I hope that the future generations of leaders on our own campus will recall the lasting impact of a Flint Hill teacher, administrator, coach, or mentor on the trajectory of their own lives – informing their why in similarly positive ways. With a sense of pride and gratitude, I am excited to announce that the nomination window for our annual Driving Spirit Award is now open.
The Driving Spirit Award recognizes current Flint Hill employees who lead by example through their dedication to students, faculty, or the Flint Hill community at large, as evidenced by their ability to energize and inspire the Husky community. Their embodiment of the Driving Spirit makes our school the special and unique place we all love, a place that respects and values all equally, leads and supports with compassion, acts with integrity, where we are inspired to imagine what’s possible and blaze a trail.
Please, take a moment to think about the exceptional employees of Flint Hill who you believe fit this description. Then, complete this nomination form by Thursday, January 9, to share that recognition. Winners will be announced at the Flint Hill Day Ceremony on February 13.
Thank you for your ongoing support of our Huskies, our Team, and this community.
Go Huskies!
